Betty I. Green
Mrs. Betty I. Green, 82, formerly of 44 Seneca Street, Salamanca, New York died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Olean General Hospital following a long illness.
She was born March 6, 1933 in Dubois, Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her long-time companion, Lyford Johnny-John in 2001.
Mrs. Green had been employed with the Seneca Nation of Indians, working as a dispatcher with the Allegany Indian Reservation Fire Department. She had previously been employed at the former Fancher Furniture Company in Salamanca.
She enjoyed traveling and doing crossword and word search puzzles.
Surviving are: two sons, John Halle Jr. and George Halle, both of Mt. Jewett, PA; a brother-in-law, Kevin Johnny-John, Salamanca, NY; friend and neighbor, Dennis Vesotski, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm and Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263.
