Bruno C. Quattrone
Mr. Bruno C. Quattrone, age 87, of Highland Avenue, Salamanca, New York died Thursday, July 5, 2012 in his home.
Born March 28, 1925 in Salamanca, New York, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Fallanca Quattrone. He was married on July 2, 1955 in St. Mary's Church, Little Valley, New York to the former Patricia Mohr, who survives.
Mr. Quattrone was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII. He was awarded the Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with 10 stars, and the Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 stars.
He was employed as an electrician at Dresser Rand in Olean, New York for 32 years prior to his retirement.
Mr. Quattrone was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 in Salamanca, New York.
Surviving besides his wife are: a daughter, Denise (Steven) Hyson, Conshohocken, PA; a son, Gary Quattrone, Salamanca, NY; 2 grandsons, Edward Hyson and Robert Hyson, both of Conshohocken, PA; 1 sister, Sara Kyler, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Antoinette Clark, Nancy Rettig, and Margaret Von Rhode and 2 brothers, Peter Quattrone and Anthony Quattrone.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Monday, July 9, 2012 from 10 – 11:30 a.m., when funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor of Our Lady of Peace Parish, officiating.
Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, New York.
Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Salamanca Fire Department.
