Carl Clifford Clark
Carl Clifford Clark, age 91, formerly of Dayton, Ohio died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford, PA.
Born on March 3, 1920 in Monterey, Tennessee he was the son of the late John and Sarah Stamps Clark. He was married to Cora Shirley who predeceased him on July 1, 2002
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with 1 star.
Mr. Clark was employed as a machinist at Oak Ridge Nuclear Facility, Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Chemimmer Manufacturing, Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. Clark descended from the Cherokee Nation. He was a member of the Eagle Club in Fairborn, Ohio and a founding member of the Dayton Baptist Temple. He enjoyed fishing and boating.
Surviving are: 2 daughters, Ms. Barbara Clark Callihan, Houston, Texas, Mrs. Judith "Tesha" (Dan M.) Jimerson, Salamanca, New York; 2 sons, Jack (Carole) Clark, Palm Springs, California, Dennis (Paula) Clark, Kemiah, Idaho; 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
Friend s may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 12 noon - 1 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Marvin Abrams, of the Jimersontown Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Horseshoe Cemetery, Carrollton, New York.
Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.
The family suggests memorials to the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
