Carol Mason

Mrs. Carol H. Mason, age 78, of 28 Merden Street, Salamanca, New York, died Sunday (May 25, 2008) at the Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York.

Born on December 25, 1929 in Gowanda, New York, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Geraldine Williams Hull. She was married in the former Congregational Church in Salamanca on August 14, 1949 to Mr. Mason who predeceased her on June 5, 1997.

Mrs. Mason was a 1947 graduate of Salamanca Central High School.

She was employed as the church secretary at the United Congregational Methodist Church in Salamanca for the last seventeen years. Previously she had been employed at the Cattaraugus County Department of Aging, Fancher Furniture, and the Dowd family.

Mrs. Mason was a member of the United Congregational Methodist Church, the "Lucky thirteen" of the class of 1947 and was devoted to her church and family.

Surviving are five daughters, Karen Haas, Randolph, NY, Barbara (Gene) Nunn, Kane, PA Maureen (Robert) Simon, Ashville, NC, Patricia Mason, Buffalo, New York, Belinda Mason, Salamanca, New York, two sons Todd (Melinda) Mason, Catskill, NY, Eric (Angela) Mason, Charlotte, NC nine grandchildren, eight great-grandcildren, and one sister Joyce Terrien, Salamanca, New York, several nieces and nephews.

A son Kenneth Mason, a granddaughter Michelle Wilson and a brother Ronald Hull predeceased Mrs. Mason.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday (May 28, 2008) at 11:00 AM in the United Congregational Church, with pastor Joshua Schallert officiating.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
