Carol Slocum Jimerson, age 79, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Fairport, New York died Friday December 21, 2012 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte, FL..
Born on January 11, 1933 in Rochester, New York she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Evelyn Castle Slocum. She was married in 1979 in Fairport, New York to Mr. Vernon "Barney' Jimerson who survives.
Mrs. Jimerson co-owned and operated Apple Moving in Fairport, New York.
She was a member of the Joshua Slocum Society, she was executive secretary of the Canandaigua Treaty Society.
Surviving are: 3 daughters, Debra (Dick Flynn) Dyer, Rochester, New York, Susan Dyer, Juneau, AK, Tracy Dyer Wowk, Fairport, New York; 2 sons, Christopher (Shelli) Dyer, Venice, FL, Ellery (Lauri) Dyer, Topsfield, MA; 4 stepsons, Vernon "skip" (Lori) Jimerson, Vancouver, WA, John (Kathy) Jimerson, Lakewood, New York, Jim Knapp, Wellsville, New York, Bruce Knapp, Elk Park, N.C.; 2 step daughters, June Jimerson, Jamestown, New York, Yvonne Jimerson, Gowanda, New York; 40 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Kim) Slocum II, Rochester, New York; 2 sisters, Gale (Ivan) Hermanet, Fairport, New York, Marilyn (Richard) Guernsey, South Wellsfleet, MA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins including, Tom & Beverly Chisolm, Venice, FL.
She was predeceased by 2 stepsons, Edward Jimerson and Gary Jimerson.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday afternoon at 1 P.M. with Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, New York.
