Carolyn J. Terhune

Carolyn J. Terhune, 78, of Bucktooth Run, Little Valley, NY died Tuesday evening, February 20, 2024 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.

Born June 14, 1945 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Ruth McKinley Johnson. She was married on January 18, 1975 in the former Kissinger United Methodist Church to Robert Terhune, who survives.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1963.

Carolyn was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching QVC, painting, and doing crafts. She will be remembered for taking many rides through Allegany State Park and birdwatching.

Surviving besides her husband are: two daughters, Aimee (Michael Hale) Terhune, Salamanca, NY, Katie (Cody Dunnewold) Terhune, Salamanca, NY; two sons, Adam (Brandy) Terhune, Andrew (Trisshell) Terhune, both of Little Valley, NY; five granddaughters, Taylor Skinner, Haley Terhune, Reeslyn Skinner, Abby Terhune Elizabeth Terhune; three grandsons, Tyler Ginnery, Evan Skinner, August Terhune; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Beverly Kahm and Irma Pierce, a brother, Terence Johnson, and a sister-in-law, Gloria Johnson.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at Riverside Chapel, 134 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 11am with Pastor Ben Good officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
