Catherine I. Pike

Catherine I. Pike, 78, of Salamanca, New York died unexpectedly at her home Monday morning, May 16, 2016.

Born September 26, 1937 in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Edith Burkett Walaski. She was married to Mr. Charles Pike, who predeceased her on June 7, 1999.

She had been employed as the Head Chef at Rainbow Lake prior to her retirement. She had previously been employed as a cook at Allegany State Park.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

Surviving are: two sons, Fred (Cynthia Arnink) Boser, Charles Pike, both of Salamanca, NY; five grandchildren, Amy Boser-Bell, Eldred, PA, Michelle Sullivan, Gordy Sullivan, both of Salamanca, NY, Jamie Montgomery, Allegany, NY, Katie Montgomery, Portland, ME; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; three sisters, Jeannine Walaski, Ladson, SC, Carolyn (Myron) Wilson, Salamanca, NY, Cathy Sherlock, Ledson, SC; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Vosburgh, a son, Gordon Boser, two brothers, James Walaski and Marty Walaski.

A memorial service will be held in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.

Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery.
