Catherine L. Platt

Catherine Platt, 75, of Delevan, NY, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.

Born November 21, 1947 in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Martha Lawrence DeMond

She was a graduate of Cinncinnatus High School, Class of 1965.

Catherine had been employed as a receptionist with Turning Stone Casino, Oneida, NY for over 15 years, retiring in 2010.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, her cat, “Baby”, and attending church at the Center Street Baptist Church when she was living in Salamanca. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, shopping and the outdoors.

Surviving are: a sister, Trudy White, Shamokin, PA; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Judy DeMond.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Center Street Baptist Church, 443 Center Street, Salamanca, NY on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 1 – 5pm.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
