Charles "Bob" Marowski
Mr. Charles “Bob” M. Marowski, 89, of Aspen Manor, Olean, New York, formerly of Rochester, New York, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014.
Born June 26, 1925 in Olean, New York, he was the son of the late Walter and Anastasia Roman Marowski. Mr. Marowski was married to the late Jean Myers Marowski, who predeceased him in 1991.
Mr. Marowski was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific Theatre during WWII aboard the heavy cruiser USS Canberra, which was torpedoed.
He was employed as a machinist for over thirty years, retiring in 1990 with the former Davenport Machine Tool in Rochester, New York.
Surviving are: 2 sons, Robert (Maureen) Marowski, Rochester, NY, Larry (JoAnn) Marowski, Rochester, NY; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, JoAnne “Jeannie” Lewicki, Franklin, PA; and his best friend and long-time companion, Mary Jane Skeels, Mansfield, NY.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Walter Marowski Jr. and Thomas Marowski.
There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Parish with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor, officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, New York on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 1 p.m.
