Charles A. Higgins
Charles A. Higgins Jr., 63, of Salamanca, NY died Friday, March 19, 2021 at Olean General Hospital following a long illness.
Born September 12, 1957 in Brant, NY, he was the son of the late Charles A. Higgins Sr. and Shirley H. Cramptan.
He was an enrolled member of the Oneida Indian Nation of New York and the Bear Clan.
Charles was educated at Fr. Baker Hall and attended Pioneer Central School.
He had been employed at SubCon Industries in Olean for over 16 years and had been previously employed at Buffalo General Hospital.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and followed Jeff Gordon. And was a sportsfan who enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and watching westerns and scifis.
He is survived by his life partner of 16 years, Virginia Dalaba, Salamanca, NY; two daughters, Michelle and Diana; stepson, Jeffrey Felt, Salamanca; a brother, Craig (Pam Davis) Higgins, Falconer, NY; several sisters; special friends, Debora Hocoban, Heather Donaldson, and Daniel Lafferty and family, all of Salamanca.
He was predeceased by his stepdaughter, Miranda Felt.
There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Picnic will be held for Charles C. Higgins Jr., who died March 19, 2021 will be held at Crowley Park, 195 River Street, Salamanca, NY, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1pm with Pastor Eric Hice of Center Street Baptist Church, officiating. Please bring a lawn chair.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation.
