Clair "Buzz" R. Kyler

Mr. Clair “Buzz” R. Kyler, 81, of Great Valley, NY, formerly of Salamanca, NY, died December 24, 2022 at his home following a long illness.

Born November 17, 1941, in Salamanca, NY he was the son of the late John and Sarah Quattrone Kyler. He was married June 25, 1998 in the Town of Salamanca, NY to the former Julie Matteson.

Mr. Kyler had been employed as a foreman with the Salamanca Board of Public Utilities for over 26 years, retiring in 1996. He was also a licensed plumber, serving in the Salamanca area for over 40 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and camping. He also drove stock cars and was a motorcycle enthusiast who owned several Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Surviving besides his wife are: four daughters, Lori (J) Crosby, FL, Susan (Billy) Rickard, Fredonia, NY, Debbie (David) Schuman, Salamanca, NY, Kristina (Sean) Kyler, Freedom, NY; two sons, Michael (Kaye) Kyler, PA, Mark (Lisa) Kyler, Frewsburg, NY; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sandra (Glenn Roberts) Hanson, Ashland, MA, Candy (Brad) Brown, Great Valley, NY, Dawn (Bob Koniak) Wojtowicz, Little Valley, NY, Mary Grace “Angel” Kyler, NC; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10:30am with Father Dennis Mancuso officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice Foundation of Western New York, 225 Como Park Blvd, Cheektowaga, NY 14227.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
