Claude Case II

Mr. Claude "Butch" E. Case Jr., age 55, of 64 Race Street, Salamanca, NY died unexpectedly Monday, November 7, 2011 shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY of an apparent heart attack.

Born on February 21, 1956 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of Shirley Case-Blackmon, Kill Buck, NY and the late Claude E. Case Sr.

Claude was very proud of his sons and especially of his five-year-old grandson, Nathaniel. He was a generous and giving person, who went out of his way to help many others. He was a creative man who twisted copper wire to form small trees, fruits, and names. He loved cooking and was one of the best mechanics in the area.

Surviving besides his mother are: 3 sons, Matthew Case, Salamanca, NY, Claude Case III, Salamanca, NY, and Jonathan (Darcy) Case, Lancaster, SC; 1 grandson, Nathaniel Case; 4 sisters, Joyce Baker, Henrietta, NY, Cathy Case, Allegany, NY, Molly Griner, Salamanca, NY, and Becky (Dean) Yarnes, Great Valley, NY; 3 brothers, David (Wilma) Case, Lancaster, SC, Ronald (Aletha) Case, Ortonville, MI, and Scott Case, Kill Buck, NY; a former wife, Earlene Case, Falconer, NY; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Case and a stepfather, Keith Blackmon.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 11, in the Great Valley Fire Hall on Depot Street, Great Valley, NY from 3 – 7 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
