Constance Johnson

Mrs. Connie M. Johnson, 87, formerly of Salamanca, NY, died Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Kirtland Rehabilitation & Care, Kirtland, OH with her children by her side, following a long illness.

Born June 26, 1934 in Red House, NY, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Dorothy Bennett Strohauer. She was married on August 1, 1952 in Augusta, GA to Mr. Robert Johnson, who predeceased her in 1964. She had been recently living with her daughter in Painesville, OH.

Connie had been employed as a Teacher’s Aide with the Salamanca Central School System for about twenty-five years, retiring in 1986.

She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grand and great grandchildren, visiting with family friends, and bowling. She was a former member of UCMC Church and was involved in bible study, served as former senior regent of the Ladies Auxiliary Salamanca Moose Club, VFW and American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed visiting her daughter’s house and she loved her grand pups, Molly and Riley.

Surviving are: a daughter, Nancy (Ralph) Soeder, Painesville, OH; a son, James (Kathy Holland) Johnson, Salamanca, NY; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, David Johnson.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 11 – 1pm in which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Michael Lonto officiating.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
