Darlene D. Howard
Mrs. Darlene D. Howard, age 66, of Broad Street, Salamanca, died unexpectedly, Friday evening at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, New York.
Born April 21, 1947 in Bradford, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Howard "Skip" Rappold and the late Evelyn Bailey Rappold.
Mrs. Howard was married October 9, 1991 in Salamanca, New York to Robert Howard, who survives.
She was employed with American Locker in Ellicottville, New York, retiring in 2008.
She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and her life-long friends. She also enjoyed knitting and loved her dog, Jasper.
She had a strong faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Salamanca, New York, whose members were like family.
Survivng besides her husband are: 2 daughters, Debra Evans, Olean, New York and Shannon Hoag, Olean, New York; 6 granddaughters, Dani, Bailey, Judi, Emily and Sarah Redeye, all of Kill Buck, New York, Zaryan Evans, Olean, New York; 1 grandson, Hudson Hoag, Salamanca, New York; 1 great-grandson, Stewart J. Redeye IV; 1 brother, Douglas (Julie) Hiller, Maples, New York; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Charles Updegrove, and a daughter, Rene Fluent.
Friends may call at the First Baptist Church, South Main Street, Salamanca, New York on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10 am - 11 am at which time a memorial service will be held with Rev. Tim Griffith, Pastor officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
