Darrell Chamberlain

Darrell Chamberlain, 74, of Kill Buck, NY died Monday evening, October 28, 2024 at home following a short illness.

Born December 8, 1949 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Earl and Mildred Hurlburt Chamberlain. He was married September 27, 1980 in the First Congregational United Methodist Church, Salamanca, NY to the former Diane Wunsch, who survives.

He was a graduate of Ellicottville High School, Class of 1968.

Darrell had been employed with Luminite in Salamanca for almost 20 years, retiring in 2012, and had previously been employed with the former Salamanca Print Cutters and the former Straight Publishing in Little Valley.

He was an avid photographer, who enjoyed the outdoors and nature. He was also very musical, playing drums in various bands throughout the area. He was a Buffalo Bills fan and had been a member of the Allegany Indian Reservation Volunteer Fire Company for almost five years, serving as an EMT on their ambulance.

Surviving besides his wife are: a brother, Perry Chamberlain, Ellicottville, NY; six nieces, Hollie Chamberlain, Ellicottville, NY, Monica Ellis, Jacksonville, FL, Rhonda Hunter, Virginia Beach, VA, Terry Rinko, Franklinville, NY, Darylene Whitcomb, Great Valley, NY, Tami Jo Smith, Fairport, NY; three nephews, Rick Chamberlain, Sean Chamberlain, both of Great Valley, NY, Jay Smith, East Otto, NY; a great-nephew, Ryan Chamberlain; several nieces and nephews. .

He was predeceased by three brothers, Timothy Chamberlain, Robert Chamberlain, and Earl Chamberlain, a sister, Hollie Smith, and a nephew, Alan Chamberlain.

Memorial visitation will be held at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 9 – 10am at which time a memorial service will be held with Bill Lowry officiating.
