Darrell Lichy, Sr.
Darrell Lichy, Sr., 59, of Salamanca, New York died, Friday, August 8, 2014 at his home following a long illness.
Born August 26, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Robert and Lillian Jimerson Lichy. He was married in Allegany State Park on November 11, 2011 to the former Cynthia Brock, who survives.
Mr. Lichy was employed as a land surveyor for the Seneca Nation of Indians. He has previously worked at the Seneca Bingo Hall.
He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, the Heron Clan, was a talented musician, and had played with the Coyote Band.
Surviving besides his wife are: 1 daughter, Darra Lichy, Salamanca, NY; 1 son, Darrell Lichy, Jr., Salamanca, NY; 4 grandchildren; 1 sister, Dawn (Mike) Priddy, Pittsburgh, PA; 2 brothers, Daniel Lichy and Duane “Duke” Lichy, both of Jimersontown, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, David Lichy.
Friends may call on Sunday and Monday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. with Winfield Bowen, pastor of The Red House Memorial Chapel, officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery, Jimersontown, New York.
