Darryl T. Shongo

Darryl Shongo, 39, of Salamanca, NY, died unexpectedly at home Monday, February 20, 2023.

Born September 12, 1983 in Olean, NY, he was the son of Kevin Foster, Salamanca, NY and the late Rosemary Warrior Shongo.

He was associated with Seneca Nation of Indians and the Beaver Clan.

He attended Salamanca High School, Class of 2002.

Darryl had been employed at Fitzpatrick and Weller, Ellicottville, NY for over five years, prior to his disability.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and doing carpentry. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and camping. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving are: four sisters, Tonya Shongo, Tara (James) Green, Trina Shongo, Teesha (Walter) Jimerson; a brother, David (Evelyn) Shongo, all of Salamanca, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; his dog, Rook.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
