David A. Deppa

It is with great sadness that the family of David Deppa announce the loss of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. David, 71, of Allegany, NY passed away on June 20, 2021 following a long battle with Dementia. We are grateful he is free and healed once again. He will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him dearly.

Born December 6, 1949 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Robert James and Ruth Reed Deppa. He was married June 27, 1975 in Ellicottville, NY to the former Joan Nazaro, who survives.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1968. Best Class Ever!

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Japan during the Vietnam War.

David had been employed as customer service representative with the City of Salamanca Board of Public Utilities for over 22 years, retiring in 2011. He had also worked for the New York State Division of Youth, Great Valley, NY and the former York Merrit, Ellicottville, NY.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was an avid golfer.

Surviving besides his wife are: his children, Ryan Deppa, Corey (Christie) Deppa, TJ (Kristina) Deppa, and Lindsay (Mike) Ball; eight grandchildren; siblings, Diane (Greg) Buckner, Janette (John) Ries, Cindy Deppa, and Larry (Jennifer) Deppa; sister-in-law, Jeanne Deppa; a very special friend, Mark Fidurko; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his infant twins, Courtney and Scott Deppa, and his brother, Robert Deppa.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private gathering will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Cattaraugus County Office of the Aging and HomeCare & Hospice. We are so thankful for their support.
