David Johnson

Mr. David Johnson, age 59, of Kent Blvd., Salamanca, NY died Sunday evening, October 9, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at his home following a brief illness.

Born on November 2, 1956 in Salamanca, New York, he was the son of Connie Johnson, Salamanca, NY and the late Robert Johnson. He was married on August 5, 1978 to the former Gerri Skinner, who survives.

Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Salamanca High School Class of 1974.

He was employed as a Produce Manager at Parkview Supermarket prior to his retirement.

He was a member of the Holy Cross Athletic Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8734 in Little Valley, the American Legion Post #892 in Allegany, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and dogs.

Surviving besides his wife and mother are: a daughter, Jennifer Johnson, Salamanca, NY; a son, Robert (Kylee) Johnson, Salamanca, NY; 6 grandchildren, Michelle Pierce, Nicholas Johnson, Alexzandra Ricketts, Bryce Ball, Brock Johnson, Knox Johnson; a brother, James (Kathy Holland) Johnson, Salamanca, NY; a sister, Nancy (Ralph) Soeder, Painesville, OH; his mother-in-law, Gerry Skinner, Portville, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m.

Honoring Mr. Johnson’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to EARS, 2 Fancher Ave, Salamanca, NY.
