David L. Reed Jr.

Mr. David L. Reed Jr., 44, of Salamanca, NY died Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born October 1, 1976 in Olean, NY, he was the son of the late David L. Reed Sr. and the late Bonita Meyer.

He graduated from high school in Florida and earned his Associates Degree in Environmental Science in Kentucky.

David had been employed with Holiday Valley for over 15 years as Lift Supervisor. When he lived in Florida, he was a mechanic for the Chevrolet dealer in Cocoa, FL.

He enjoyed searching for treasure with his metal detector, coin collecting, and searching for antiques. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving are: his stepmother, Charmaine Reed-Stewart, Kill Buck, NY; three sisters, Barbara Kelley, TX, Julie Reed, Salamanca, NY, Quinn Bucktooth, Syracuse, NY; four brothers, Dean Reed, FL, Ryan Reed, Kill Buck, NY, Douglas Reed, Kill Buck, NY, Chad Weishan, Buffalo, NY; his longtime companion, Tina Maybee, Little Valley, NY; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his mother, Bonita Meyer, and his father, David L. Reed Sr.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
