David Newark
David Newark, 57, of Salamanca, NY died Friday, October 26, 2018 at Olean General Hospital.
Born June 9, 1961 in Olean, NY, he was the son of the late Burton and Thelma Andrews Newark. He had been married to the former Joyce Bowley Newark for many years. She predeceased him on September 4, 2014.
Dave was employed for over 25 years with the Salamanca Board of Public Utilities, retiring as a Foreman. He had also been employed for many years at the former Biscup’s Hardware Store and had a small engine repair shop at his home.
He was a former member of the United Congregational Methodist Church.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and riding his four-wheeler. He coached SYA Baseball for ten years and collected antiques. Dave was happiest when he had a project or something to fix.
Surviving are: two sons, Andrew “Andy” (Angela Bialaszewski) Newark, Salamanca, NY, Jeremy (Kyle Croker) Newark, Randolph, NY; two grandchildren, Kaydence Newark and Ayden Newark, both of Salamanca, NY; a brother, Steve ( Delores) Newark, Little Valley, NY; a sister, Marjorie Newark McLaughlin, Coatesville, PA; three nieces, Monica (Victor) O’Neal, Honeybrook, PA, Amber (David) Herman, Coatesville, PA, Christine Newark, Otto, NY.
Memorial visitation will be held in the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Michael Lonto of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church officiating.
