David "Stitch" Waite

David “Stitch” Waite, 60, of Salamanca, NY died Sunday, April 23, 2023 at home following a short illness.

Born August 14, 1962 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Richard and Mary Schreckengost Waite. He was married on November 10, 1984 in Little Valley, NY to the former Cindy Collins, who survives.

He attended Salamanca High School.

David had been employed with All Green Landscaping in Great Valley for over ten years, retiring in 2011.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

Surviving besides his wife are: two daughters, Tracy (Jacob) Collins Ballew, Dalton GA, Dawn (Shawn Page) Wahl, Otto, NY; two sons, David Jr. (Kim) Waite, Little Valley, NY, Kyle Waite, Salamanca, NY; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel Waite, Salamanca, NY; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Ramona Waite, and two brothers, Richard Waite III and Russell Waite.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Homecare & Hospice, 1225 West State Street, Olean, NY 14760 or The American Lung Association, 2564 Walden Avenue, Suite 101, Buffalo, NY 14225.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
