Dawn Brahaney

Dawn Brahaney, age 66, of Front Avenue, Salamanca, NY, died unexpectly Friday (March 26, 2010) at the Erie County Medical Center.

Born on May 25, 1943, in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Pauline Haines Young. Mrs. Brahaney was married on October 6, 1962 to Daniel Brahaney, who predeceased her on September 10, 2008.

She was employed as a professional cake decorator at Parkview Supermarket for over thirty years prior to her retirement. Mrs. Brahaney owned and operated “Cakes by Dawn” and had previously been employed as a nurses aide at the former Salamanca, District Hospital, Sheble and Wood Woolen Mill and UNIMart

Mrs. Brahaney was a member of the Nurses Guild, taught cake decorating at the adult education at Salamanca high School and enjoyed going to the casino.

Surviving are: a a son, Daniel Brahaney , Salamanca, New York , a daughter, Shayne (Douglas Betoski) Harbron; Lewiston MI, three granddaughters, Delaney Harbron, Ashley Harbron, and Carleigh Harbron, all of Lewiston MI, one brother James (Sandy) Watt, Killbuck, two sisters, Pat Kyler, Mary McLeod, both of Salamanca, New York, several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brahaney was predeceased by a brother Harold Watt.

There will be no visitation

A memorial service will be held on Friday (April 2, 2010) at 11:00 AM in the House of Prayer with the Rev Donald Acker, pastor officiating.
