Deborah A. Sassone
Deborah “Debbie” A. Sassone, 68, of Salamanca, NY, formerly of Pennsauken, NJ, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at home.
Born December 27, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Ann Martin Orenstine.
Debbie graduated in 1972 from George Washington High School in Northeast Philadelphia.
In 1980, Debbie met the love of her life, Robert R. Sassone, in Deerfield Beach, FL. In 1982, they were married in Olean, NY.
In 1983, Robert joined the United States Air Force and Debbie accompanied him as a proud military wife in Spokane, WA and Honolulu, HI while he was stationed on active duty.
In 1992, Debbie settled in Pennsauken, NJ, where she and Robert raised their two sons.
Debbie was a self-employed house cleaner in Cherry Hill, NJ for over 20 years.
She enjoyed gardening, attending sporting events for her children, and going down to the Jersey Shore. She was a lover of animals and took care of many cats and dogs, including Kodi, Snubz, Kit, and Mischa. Most of all, she loved her family with all her heart and enjoyed every moment she spent with them. Debbie was most proud of being a grandmother to three grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Surviving are: two sons, Robert (Elisa DeLaCruz) Sassone, Cherry Hill, NJ, Gregory (Kristy) Sassone, Olean, NY; a granddaughter, Angelica Sassone; two grandsons, Luke Sassone, Vincent Sassone; a sister, Linda Markward, Philadelphia, PA; a great-niece, Annie French; special friends, the Smith family, Pennsauken, NJ and the Manghan family, Mapleshade, NJ. Undeniably, Debbie was sincerely loved and adored by many others all throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2011.
There will be no visitation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association, or your local SPCA.
