Dennis Brewer

Mr. Dennis D. Brewer, 68, of Killbuck, NY died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY, following a short illness.

Born on November 8, 1948 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of Evelyn Emke Brewer of Ellicottville, NY and the late Courtney Brewer. He was married on March 11, 1971 in Salamanca, NY to the former Alice Jacoby, who survives.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam.

Mr. Brewer was employed with the International Ordinance Technology in Jamestown, NY for over eight years, retiring in 2014. He had previously been employed in the Tool & Die Department of AVM Signore for over forty years.

He was a former member of the American Legion in Ellicottville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, the outdoors, camping, playing Euchre, and road trips with his mother and family. In his younger days, he enjoyed canoeing and trap shooting.

Surviving besides his wife and mother are: two daughters, Debbie (Paul) Krezmien, Springville, NY, Karen Venturin, Great Valley, NY; a son, Michael (Debbie) Brewer, Bradford, PA; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Linda (Brian) Dobson, GA, Susie (Skip) Evans, Limestone, NY; a brother, William (Helena) Brewer, Little Valley, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 2 – 5 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with his nephew, Mr. John Brewer, officiating.

Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post 535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post 5296.

Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, NY.
