Dennis J. Daly

Dennis J. Daly, 76, formerly of Cattaraugus, NY, died Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Brooksville Healthcare Center, Brooksville, FL following a long illness.

Born September 21, 1946 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Margaret Daly and Russell Trail. He was married to the former Carol Jacoby, who predeceased him in February.

He was a graduate of Ellicottville High School, Class of 1964 and earned an Associate’s Degree from the Community College of the Air Force.

Dennis was a veteran of the United States Military, USN (20 years) and USAF (14 years). He retired in 2007 as a Chief Master Sergeant from Niagara Air Reserve Station.

Dennis was retired from NY State as an administrator of 30 plus years with the Western New York DDSO, Perrysburg, NY.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 659 member, where he was Post Commander for greater than 45 years.

Dennis is survived by three sons, Dion Daly, Darin Daly, Antony Daly; and six grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life to pay respects will be held at the Ellicottville American Legion, 6500 Maples Road, Ellicottville, NY 14731 on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 11am – 1pm.

Following the Celebration of Life, a graveside service with full military honors will held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Ellicottville, NY at 1:15 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Mancuso of the Parish Family of the Three Catholic Sisters of the Foothills, officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
