Diane L. France, age 76, of Salamanca, New York died Thursday evening, July 23, 2015 at The Absolut of Salamanca, New York.
Born on October 19, 1938 in Punxsutawney, PA she was the daughter of the late Ernest & Virginia Zolner Helm. She was married on October 18, 1958 in People’s United Methodist Church to Mr. Lane France who survives.
Mrs. France was a graduate of Salamanca High School.
She had been employed as a Bookkeeper for Dr. Paul Sum and as an Administrative Assistant at the former Woodland Park Nursing Home (The Absolut), Salamanca, New York.
Mrs. France was a member of the United Congregational Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star Mizpah Chapter #162 where she served two terms as Matron and one term as District Deputy. She enjoyed painting and ceramics.
Surviving besides her husband are: 3 daughters, Brenda (Richard) Capron, Salamanca, New York, Karen Marshall, Lake Placid, New York, Susan (Martin) Riggs, Salamanca, New York; 8 grandchildren, Sonya (Joe) Kasper, Bradford, PA., Justin (Tana) Capron, Mansfield, Ohio, Lindsay Capron, Salamanca, New York, Scott Marshall, Jay, New York, Adam (Jennifer) Marshall, Ray Brook, New York, Samantha Marshall, Bloomington, New York, Megan Riggs, Mackenzie Riggs, both of Salamanca, New York; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Scott Marshall.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Michael Trenchard, interim pastor of United Congregational Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
