Dolores M. Geiger

Dolores M. Geiger, 79, of Salamanca, NY died Monday morning, August 5, 2024 at home following a long illness.

Born January 26, 1945 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Young Meyer. She was married on august 22, 1964 to Raymond S. Geiger, who survives.

She was a graduate of Cattaraugus High School, Class of 1963.

Dolores had been employed as a crossing guard with Salamanca Police Department for over 15 years, with Leanord’s Grocery Store for over 10 years, the former Tractor Supply, Salamanca, NY and Central Lanes, Salamanca, NY.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially following her granddaughter’s volley ball team at Portville Central School. She was an avid New York Yankee and NASCAR fan and was very involved in Geiger Racing with her husband Ray. She also bowled on various leagues throughout the years.

Surviving besides her husband are: a daughter, Jodi (Dustin) Unverdorben, Portville, NY; a son, Paul (Jacquie) Geiger, Hinsdale, NY; a granddaughter, Tori Unverdorben, Portville, NY; three grandsons, Mark Stimlinger, Arcade, NY, Blake Geiger, Nashville, TN, Ryan Unverdorben, Portville, NY; a brother William (Shirley) Meyer, Cattaraugus, NY.

She was predeceased by a brother, James Meyer.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Central Lanes, 191 Central Ave, Salamanca, NY.

Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Homecare & Hospice, 115 E Main Street, Allegany, NY 14706, or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Society P.O. Box 660843, Dallas, TX 75380.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
