Dora Leaskey

Dora J. Leaskey, 96, of Cheektowaga, NY, formerly of Allegany and Salamanca, NY died Monday evening, May 6, 2024 at her daughter’s home, following a short illness.

Born November 7, 1927 in Olean, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Carrie Copolino Muccino. She was married in June 1951 to Ted Leaskey, who predeceased her in August 1981.

She was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1945 and attended Commercial Academy.

Along with her husband, she co-owned and operated the former Ted’s Bakery in Salamanca. She had also been employed at Western Union in Olean and Salamanca.

Mrs. Leaskey was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, the Salamanca Republican Women’s Club, AARP Chapter #844, the Lionettes, XI DELTA GAMMA, and BETA SIGMA PHI.

Surviving are: a daughter, Judy Leaskey, Cheektowaga, NY; two grandsons, Ted (Paula) Mighells, Olean, NY, Gabriel (Rebecca) Mighells, Cheektowaga, NY; a great-granddaughter, Quinn Mighells, Cheektowaga, NY;several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Thad Leaskey, two brothers, Nicholas Muccino, Anthony Muccino, and three sisters, Caroline Henneman, Rose Oliveri, and Josephine Skrobacz.

Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.

Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd, Cheektowaga, NY 14227.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
