Doris Bender
Mrs. Doris E. Bender, age 79, of Frewsburg, New York died late Monday, March 24, 2014 at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, New York following a long illness.
Born on November 27, 1934 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late Medford and Grace Arbuckle Whiteman. She was married to Morgan Kent Fenley who predeceased her in 2013.
Mrs. Bender was a 1953 graduate of Rochester School for the Deaf in Rochester, New York.
She had been employed at the Lawyer's Co-Op Publishing Company in Rochester for over 10 years.
Mrs. Bender was a member of the Southern Tier Deaf Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose in Jamestown, New York.
She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her grandson.
Surviving are: a son, Mr. Richard Fenley, of Frewsburg; a grandson, Thomas John Fenley, Springville, New York.
She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Noel Buck, Geraldine Whiteman, a brother, Thomas Whiteman.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M..
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
