Dorothy Dowiasz, 84, of Franklin Street, Salamanca, New York died Thursday evening, (October 25, 2007) at the Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York
Born August 15, 1923 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Michalena Barczak Venneski. She was married on June 27, 1945 in Holy Cross Church to Stanley Dowiasz who predeased her on September 19, 1998.
Mrs. Dowiasz was a member of Holy Cross Church. She enjoyed collecting stuffed animals.
Surviving are: a daughter, Donna Johnson, Little Valley, New York; a son, Thomas Dowiasz, Great Valley, New York; 2 grandchildren, Timothy Dowiasz, Killbuck, New York, Jeffrey (Paula) Dowiasz, Salamanca, New York; 4 great grandchildren, Austin Dowiasz, Dylan Dowiasz, both of Salamanca, New York, Danielle Dowiasz, Killbuck, New York, Jordan Dowiasz, Salamanca, New York; a sister, Josephine Rosenzweig, Middletoen, N.J.; and several neices and nephews.
She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Carl Vesneski, Floyd Vesneski, Harry Vesneski, Stanley Vesneski; 2 sisters, Wanda Fuller and Mary Laskowski.
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday morning at 11:00 A.M. in Holy Cross Church with Rev. Piotr Zaczynski, pastor of Holy Cross/St. Patrick's Church, as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
