Dorothy I. Harrison Jacoby

Dorothy I. Harrison Jacoby, age 89 of Mutton Hollow Road, Great Valley, NY died at her home early Saturday morning, August 16, 2014 following a long illness.

Born June 13, 1925 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Lila Milhollen Harrison. On May 31, 1946 she married William “Dale” Jacoby who predeceased her on February 25, 2009

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Great Valley. She enjoyed bowling, camping and her family.

Mrs. Jacoby was employed at the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1987. After Retiring from the Social Security Administration , she worked for Norton Smith Hardwoods until her second retirement in October, 2008.

She is survived by four children: Dorothy “Ann” Imoff of Bradford, PA, Carol (Dennis) Daly of Cattaraugus, NY, Alice (Dennis) Brewer of Killbuck, NY, William (Chris) Jacoby of Great Valley, NY; two sisters: Thelma Meyers of Killbuck, NY and Betty Terry of Winston Salem, NC; thirteen grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Judy E. Jacoby,a grandson, Denny D. Daly, four brothers; Victor Harrison, Charles Harrison, Robert Harrison, and Guy Harrison.

There will be no visitation. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Home Care & Hospice or the American Heart Association.
