Duane R. Lichy
Duane “Duke” R. Lichy, 71, of Salamanca, NY formerly of Pittsburgh, PA died early Tuesday morning, April 27, 2021 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.
Born September 10, 1949 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Lillian Jimerson Lichy.
He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Heron Clan.
He was a 1967 graduate of Sto-Rox High School in McKees Rocks, PA.
Mr. Lichy was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War.
He had been employed with Silver Star Meat Processing, McKees Rocks, PA and had also been employed with the Seneca Nation of Indians in the maintenance department.
Duane was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post 5296 and the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post 535. He enjoyed the outdoors and nature watching, and being around his family. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving are: a sister, Dawn (Mike) Priddy, Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, Dan Lichy, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews, including Levi Lichy of Salamanca.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Darrell and David Lichy.
Memorial visitation will be held at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 10 – 12pm at which time full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post 535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post 5296.
