Edward White

Mr. Edward F. White, 85, of Kill Buck, NY died Thursday afternoon, February 1, 2018 at the Olean General Hospital.

Born June 4, 1932 in Carrollton, NY, he was the son of the late Floyd White and Edna Luense. He was married on September 11, 1954 in Salamanca, NY to the former Myrtle Newark, who survives.

Mr. White was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict.

He received his G.E.D. in 1961.

He had been employed with the former Dresser Rand for over 38 years, retiring in 1995.

Mr. White was a member of the American Legion Post 531 and the Great Valley Masonic Lodge #1178 F & AM. He enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors, and loved being on the water and fishing.

Surviving besides his wife are: three daughters, Lori (Steve Wrona) White, Little Valley, NY, Merrilee (Robert) Davis, Arcade, NY, Melody (Timothy) Kemp, Winston-Salem, NC; two sons, David (Darlene) White, Little Valley, NY, Jeff (Tina) White, Kernersville, NC; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by a son, Edward F. White Jr., on December 11, 2005, two sisters, Maybelle Means, Margaret Newton, and four brothers, William White, Walter White, Donald White, Floyd White.

Memorial visitation will be held in the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held with Rev. Michael Trenchard, pastor of the United Congregational Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or the United Congregational Methodist Church.
