Elizabeth A. Freaney

Elizabeth A. Freaney, 81, of Salamanca, NY died Monday evening, April 1, 2024 at the Salamanca Rehabilitation & Nursing Home following a long illness.

Born March 3, 1943 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Marjorie Frenz Freaney.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1961.

Elizabeth was a veteran of the United States Army from 1963 – 1975. She served in Vietnam and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, two Overseas Bars, two Good Conduct Bars, and the Meritorious Unit Citation.

She enjoyed traveling throughout the world, doing crosswords, word games, and artwork.

Surviving are: two brothers, William (Michele) Freaney, Salamanca, NY, James Freaney, Great Valley, NY; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Bradford, PA.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
