Elizabeth Fordham Wiley
Elizabeth Fordham Wiley, age48 of Farmersville, Station, New York died unexpectedly Tuesday morning (December 4,2007) at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Springville, New York.
Born on January 22, 1959 in Salamanca, NY she was the daughter of Gerald & Barbara Poydock Fordham. She was married on July 13, 1987 to James A. Wiley who predeceased her in November 2006.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Salamanca High School Class of 1977. She received her Associate's Degree from SUNY Morrisville in 1979, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from St. Bonaventure University, and a Master's Degree in Education from SUNY Geneseo.
She taught Pre K at West Valley Central School for over 17 years. Previously, she taught at the Salamanca Central School District and St. Aloysius in Springville.
Elizabeth was a member of the N.Y.S. United Teacher's Association and the West Valley Teacher's Association. Her passions included gardening, bird watching, baking and the children's lives that she touched. She served as Advisor to the Senior Class and facilitated Parenting with Dignity.
Surviving besides her parents are: two daughters, Samantha Wiley, Victoria Wiley; both of Farmersville Station, NY; a step daughter, Lynn ( Bruce) Heineman, Arcade, NY; a step son, Dennis (Shannon) Wiley, Queens, NY; two grandchildren; a sister, Judith Herlihy, Rochester, NY; three brothers, Gerald F. (Collette) Forham, Tucson, AZ, Daniel M. (Kristina) Fordham, Perdu, NY, James R. Fordham, Charlotte, NC; several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend the celebration of her life on Sunday from 2-6 P.M. at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday morning at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Salamanca, New York with Rev. Piotr Zaczynski, pastor of Holy Cross/ St. Patrick's Church as celebrant.
Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery, Freedom, NY.
In lieu of flowers, a benefit fund has been established for Samantha & Victoria Wiley, % M & T Bank, Arcade, New York or donations may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis Tennessee 38105.
