Elizabeth Peters
Mrs. Elizabeth Peters, age 88, of Jefferson Street, Salamanca, New York died Monday morning, March 7, 2011 at The Absolut of Salamanca, Salamanca, New York, following a long illness.
Born on September 17, 1922 in Germany, she was the daughter of the late William and Erna Keilholtz Bliesath. She was married on October 26, 1968 in the Congregational Church to Mr. James Peters who survives.
Mrs. Peters was employed as an assistant for Dr. Howard Largeman for 17 years. Previously, she had been employed at the former Fitzgerald’s Department Store.
She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. She enjoyed spending time at their camp, going to dinner with friends, and traveling.
Surviving are: 1 daughter, Linda Haas, Carlton Avenue, Salamanca, New York; 1 son, Mr. William (Laura) Lewis, East Amherst, New York; 5 grandchildren, Susan (Christopher) Magara, George Haas Jr., both of Salamanca, NY, Megan Lewis, William Burton Lewis, and Caitlin Lewis, all of East Amherst, NY; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will held in St. Mary’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor, officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
