Ellodene E. Grey
Mrs. Ellodene E. Grey, age 84, of Killbuck, New York died early Monday morning, June 13, 2016 at Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, New York following a brief illness.
Born on October 10, 1931 in Vandalia, New York she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lena Crouse Case.
Mrs. Grey had been employed as a Social Welfare Examiner for Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services for over 20 years prior to her retirement in 1994. She then worked part time until 1999. Previously, she had worked at the former Salamanca District Hospital.
She was a member of the United Congregational Methodist Church. She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Heron Clan. She was a volunteer at church sending cards to parishioners in need and she started the Prayer Chain. She was a member of the Salamanca District Hospital Retirees, Great Valley Senior Citizens, Salamanca Senior Citizens, Salamanca Chapter of the A.A.R.P. where she served as Secretary, and the RSVP Program. She loved to cook and bake.
Surviving are: 5 daughters, L. Sue Grey, Brenda (Jeff Breeden) Rinko, , Glenda Grey, all of Killbuck, New York, Rhonda Grey, Salamanca, New York, Chanda Grey, Viera, Florida; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Ellsworth Case, Limestone, New York; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Trenchard, interim pastor of the United Congregational Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, New York.
