Ernestine M. Sunderlin
Ernestine M. Sunderlin, 71, of Jimersontown, NY died Tuesday morning, March 9, 2021 at Buffalo General Hospital following a short illness.
Born November 26, 1949 in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Jr. and Elaine Gibson Bucktooth. She was married on July 24, 1969 in the Jimersontown Presbyterian Church to Raymond Sunderlin, who predeceased her in 1993.
She was an enrolled member of the Onondaga Nation of Indians and the Eel Clan.
Ernestine had been employed as an inspector with Seneca Manufacturing.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, working, campfires, and doing sudoku puzzles. She was an avid Buffalo Bills and dirt track racing fan.
Surviving are: a daughter, Laura (Marvin) Sunderlin Cooper, Seneca Falls, NY; three grandchildren, Marvin D. Cooper Jr., Nicholas Cooper, and Jennifer Cooper, all of Jimersontown; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sons, Raymond Sunderlin Jr., Robert “Mikey” Sunderlin, and four brothers, Fletcher Bucktooth, Ernest Bucktooth Sr., Eric Bucktooth, and Floyd Bucktooth III.
Friends may call at the family home, 3638 Center Road, Jimersontown beginning Thursday afternoon March 11, 2021 and continuing all day Friday.
Funeral services will be held at the family home on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Kevin John of the Red House Memorial Chapel officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, NY.
