Eugene "Gene" R. Roszyk

Eugene “Gene” R. Roszyk, 88, of 5471 State Route 353, Little Valley, passed away December 12, 2017 at Absolut Care in Salamanca, NY after a long illness.

He was born March 7, 1929 in Salamanca, NY and was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Roszyk.

Gene was a graduate of the Salamanca High School in 1945, and went on to serve in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class, serving in Anchorage, Alaska during the Korean Conflict as a lineman.

After his discharge from the Air Force, Gene worked for Verizon for 32 years as a lineman.

Gene will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Aumock Roszyk of 51 years; two children, Andrew E. Roszyk of Syracuse, NY and William E. Roszyk of Cattaraugus, NY; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Sharon Rockwell.

There will be no visitation.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
