Eugene E. Hahn, Sr.
Mr. Eugene "Gene" E. Hahn Sr., age 65, of Salamanca, New York, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York following a long illness.
Born January 6, 1948, in Superior, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Paul and Lelia Stone Hahn. He was married on December 28, 1973 to the former Constance "Connie" Holland who survives.
He was employed at Signores in Ellicottville, New York as a shipping clerk for thirty five years prior to his retirement.
Mr. Hahn was a life-long member of the Salamanca Volunteer Fire Department holding various positions including Chief for the last fifteen years.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, hunting, caring for his dogs, and mechanics.
Surviving besides his wife are: 2 sons, Eugene (Heather) Hahn Jr., Salamanca, New York, and Steven (Carla Ford) Hahn, Buffalo, New York; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Bonnie (Al) Butterfield, Tavares, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Darlene Hahn, Evelyn Hahn, Eunice Hahn, and a brother LaVerne P. Hahn, Sr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign War Post, Little Valley, New York.
Arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
