Mrs. Evelene "Sue" Poling, age 71, of Newton Street, Salamanca, New York died Thursday, October 11, 2012 at her home.
Born on August 17, 1941 in Burlington, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Lester Lambert & Arlene Moore Lambert Farris, Junior, West Virginia who survives. She was married on November 30, 1960 in Maryland to Mr. Virgle Poling who survives.
Mrs. Poling was employed as a Crossing Guard, Bus Monitor, and Teacher's Aide for the Salamanca Central School District for 27 years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Holy Cross Athletic Club, former member of the Great Valley Women's Auxiliary, and loved to play bingo.
Surviving besides her husband and mother are: 4 daughters, Malesia (Ronald) Hill, Bucktooth Run, Little Valley, New York, Malinda (Wendell) Haines, Salamanca, New York, Lari (Russell) Granger, Vale, North Carolina, Susan (Douglas) Haines, Salamanca, New York; a son, Shawn (Jen) Poling, Bradford, PA; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Joe Lambert, Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Roger Lambert.
Memorial visitation will be held in the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
A memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 12 noon with Pastor Roy Schreckengost, Church of Christ, officiating.
