Evelyn Bean
Evelyn M. Bean, age 76, of Olean, New York died Wednesday afternoon, January 11, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Ann Marie Shoup, Olean, NY following a long illness.
Born on February 22, 1935 in Gowanda, New York she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary Fielman Woodruff. She was married on June 26, 1954 in St. Patrick's Church, Salamanca, NY to Richard J. Bean Sr. who predeceased her on January 25, 2010.
Mrs. Bean had been employed at the former Sheble & Wood Woolin Mills, Salamanca, NY, Sub Con, Olean, NY and the Canning Factory.
She was a member of the former St. Patrick's Church, Salamanca, New York and she attended St. Mary's Church in Olean, New York. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed embroidery, number painting, and bingo. She attended the Linwood Center and Total Senior Care.
Surviving are: 4 daughters, Mary Ann Bean, Olean, NY, Carol Monroe, Allegany, NY, Brenda (Fred) Otto, Bradford, PA., Ann Marie (Jeff Veno) Shoup, Olean, NY; 3 sons, Richard (Rebecca) Bean, Olean, NY, Rick (Amy) Bean, Duncansville, PA, John (Lorrie) Bean, Colonial Heights, VA; 21 grandchildren ; 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Doris (Ken) Amidon, Palmyra, NY, Blanche (Cecil) Bauza, Dunkirk, NY, Carol Stoll, Silver Creek, NY; a brother, Jay Woodruff, Dunkirk, NY; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a great grandson, Cameron Foster and a sister, Ardean McAllister.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish at with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor, as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Linwood Center, Allegany, NY or the Total Senior Care Center, Olean, NY.
