Fonda Robertson

Fonda M. Robertson, 65, of Waite Avenue, Salamanca, NY died Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Absolut of Salamanca following a short illness.

Born August 12, 1952 in Ville Platte, LA, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Wilda Ortego Fontenot.

Ms. Robertson received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in education from the University of West Florida.

She taught elementary education for over 40 years in Florida and Louisiana, focusing on reading, prior to her retirement in 2013.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved listening to live music and the beach. She volunteered and assisted people that were visually impaired or blind, and was a member of the Blind Society.

Surviving are: a daughter, Nathalie (James) Poling, Salamanca, NY; two sons, Robert Reeves, Pensacola, FL, and Daniel Robertson, Baker, FL; four grandchildren, Hannah, Evelyn, Charlotte, and Wyatt Poling, all of Salamanca, NY; a sister, Constance (Alfred) Pitre, Scott, LA.

She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Fontenot.

There will be no visitation.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Local funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
