Francis "Chris" Frey

Francis C. “Chris” Frey, 46, of Salamanca, NY died Thursday evening, April 21, 2022 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.

Born July 19, 1975 in Olean, NY, he was the son of Francis L. Frey of Salamanca and the late Linda Kissel Frey.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1995 and attended Ellicottville BOCES.

Chris had been employed with Allegany State Park in the Grounds and Maintenance Department for over 20 years.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes and being with family and friends. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hiking. He was an avid sports fan, especially football, hockey, and baseball, and was a former CCMFL Commissioner and had coached peewee Sabers football.

Chris was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish.

Surviving besides his father are: four sisters, Pam Frey, Salamanca, NY, Kelly Frey-Breary, Hamburg, NY, Tina (Ken Morris Sr.) Adams, Iris (William) Butler, both of Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Patrick Melfi as celebrant.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Salamanca Sabers Youth Football organization.
