Francis D. Woodin Sr.
Mr. Francis D. Woodin Sr., age 64, of Cleveland Avenue, Salamanca, New York died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, December 1, 2012 shortly after being admitted to Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York.
Born on May 29, 1948 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Frank and Regina Gogel Woodin. He was married on November 5, 1971 in Limestone, New York to the former Marlene Tyger who survives.
Mr. Woodin was employed as a Truck Driver for Stroehman Bakery in Olean, New York prior to an injury.
He enjoyed hunting and bowling.
Surviving besides his wife are: 9 sons, David Burgess, Wilmington, N.C., Oran "Skip" (Margaret) Burgess, Wallingford, CT, Dennis (Kim) Burgess, Bradford, PA, Mark (Michelle) Valdosta, GA, Roland Burgess, Meriden, CT, James (Nancy) Burgess, Summerfield, FL, Tim (Kim) Burgess, Bradford, PA, Wayne Woodin, Wallingford, CT, Francis (Dacene) Woodin Jr., Salamanca, New York; 21 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Patricia (Michael) Ptak, Westfield, New York; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Burgess.
There will be no visitation.
Friends may attend a memorial service on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11 A.M. in The House of Prayer, Highland Avenue, Salamanca, New York with Pastor Robert Goode officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
