Frank Ray
Mr. Frank Ray, age 63, of R.C. Hoag Drive, Salamanca, New York died unexpectedly, Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York.
Born on June 14, 1946 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Sidney & Marietta Crouse Ray. He was married on September 15, 1965 to the former Audrey Jacobs who survives.
Mr. Ray attended Bible School in Waverly, New York.
He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, the Bear Clan, and the Valley Christian Assembly Church.
Mr. Ray was a self employed contractor for over 25 years. Previously, he had been employed at the former Fancher Furniture Company and on a Survey Crew during the Kinzua Dam Construction.
Surviving besides his wife are: 3 daughters, Stephanie Ray, Jimersontown, New York, Dawn Ray, Salamanca, New York, Jennifer (Jerry Howe) Ray, Killbuck, New York; a son, Seneca (Shila) Ray, Conewango Valley, New York; 2 grandchildren, Stephen Holland, Jimersontown, New York, Nakoa Ray, Conewango Valley, New York; 2 great grandchildren, Jermyah Holland, Javyn Holland, Oregon; 2 sisters, Amelia Watt, Jimersontown, New York, Lucy (Merle) Watt, Steamburg, New York; a brother Duane “Jim” (Katrina) Ray, Jimersontown, New York; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 1 P.M. with Rev. Charles Elwell of the Valley Christian Assembly officiating assisted by Pastor Willie Jock & Pastor Terry Spencer.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, New York.
