Gail Fisher John

Gail Marie John, age 52 , of 153 Main Street, Bradford, PA. died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the Bradford Nursing Pavilion, Bradford, Pa. while under hospice care.

Born on September 25, 1956 in Salamanca, N. Y. she was the daughter of the late Leo Fisher and Rita McMullen Fisher Kofod. She was married in November 1997 to Mr. Stephen John who survives.

Mrs. John attended high school in Jamestown and Salamanca, N.Y.

She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296, Salamanca, N. Y. where she served as past president, Eagles Auxiliary #2432 and Marche Club #6084 and a social member of American Legion Post #108, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #212, all of Bradford, Pa.

Surviving besides her husband are: a son, Christopher Biscup, Jamestown, N. Y.; 3 sisters, Joyce (Jack) Walsh, East Aurora, N. Y., Barbara ( late William) Van Buren, Hanover, PA, Rosanne (Leonard) Davis, Busti, N. Y.; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Mrs. John was predeceased by 2 sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Plonka and Martha “Sue” (John) Livermore, and a brother Richard Fisher.

Memorial visitation will be held in the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, N. Y. on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at which time memorial services will be held with Deacon Mike Anderson of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating.

Burial will be in Horseshoe Cemetery, Carrollton, N.Y. at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the donor’s choice.
