George E. Hostuttler

George E. Hostuttler, 68, of Little Valley, NY died Thursday evening, February 24, 2022 at the Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, NY, following a short illness.

Born August 24, 1953 in Bradford, PA he was the son of the late James and Marie Chase Hostuttler. He was married on July 16, 1977 in Salamanca, NY to the former Catherine Swenskie, who survives.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1971.

George was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving stateside.

He had been employed with the Cattaraugus County DPW for almost twenty years, retiring in 2018. He had previously been employed by Rock City Dodge, Little Valley, NY, the former McClure Tire & Co. and Salamanca Ford Motors, both of Salamanca, NY. He had also operated his own auto repair garage.

He enjoyed spending time with family, the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was an assistant coach with Salamanca Youth Football for over 25 years associated with Blue Devils, Red Skins, and Warrior Teams. He also enjoyed the auto races, especially working in the pit crew with his brother-in-law and nephews, modified cars, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving besides his wife are: three sons, Matthew (Jackie) Roblee, TX, Joshua Hostuttler, Buffalo, NY, Justin (Audrah John) Hostuttler, Salamanca, NY; grandchildren; a sister, Debra Bradley, Great Valley, NY; two brothers, James (Gail) Hostuttler, Corning, NY, Jeffrey “Goober” Hostuttler, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Jason Hostuttler.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday March 5, 2022 from 11 – 1pm, at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Michael Lonto officiating.

Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post 535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post 5296.
