Gerald E. Wallace

Gerald E. Wallace, 73, of Salamanca, NY, formerly of Tavares, FL, died Monday, July 1, 2024 at Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born December 7, 1950 in Eustis, FL, he was the son of Lona Hornsby Wallace and the late James “Gene” Wallace. He was married on May 29, 1969 to the former Sharon Baker, who survives.

He had been employed in the construction industry for thirty years in the Lale County Florida area.

Gerald enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing in his earlier days. He also enjoyed watching old TV shows, playing billiards, and visiting zoos, especially seeing the exotic animals.

Surviving besides his mother and wife are: a daughter, Melissa Wallace, Salamanca, NY; a sister, Jeanne Petty, Eustis, FL; four brothers, Kenneth (Rose) Wallace, Leesburg, FL, Keith Wallace, Mt. Dora, FL, Kevin Wallace, Apopka, FL, Matt Berg, Eustis, FL; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Debra Burnham, Judy Mikell, and a brother, Byron Wallace.

Per his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
